Food2Budget

Your information, explained plainly.

Information you submit

Community food finds: the area, address or intersection, food item, price, purchase date, and any optional seller name, meal type, cuisine, details, or photo you submit. The form does not ask for your email or phone number. It may store a generic finder label with the submission.

Seller listings: business and contact names, business email, optional phone number, area and address, seller type, food and price details, availability, offers, and any optional photos.

We use these details to review submissions, check listings, respond to seller enquiries, and operate the food map. Submissions are stored for review. They do not appear on the map unless approved.

What becomes public

If a community food find is approved, the food, price, location, visit date, optional seller details, and submitted photo may be displayed on the website. If you submit a photo, the form asks you to confirm you took it or have permission to share it and to give Food2Budget permission to display it on the website and official Food2Budget social media accounts. You keep ownership of your photo.

If a seller listing is approved, its business name, food and price details, location, offers, availability, and submitted photos may appear on the site and be promoted on Food2Budget’s official social media accounts. Seller contact details are collected for review and communication; they are not included in the public listing.

Food2Budget’s social accounts are not connected to this website yet. We will update this notice if the way submitted content is used changes.

Optional location

If you choose “Use my current location,” your browser asks for permission. The coordinates are used in that browser session to estimate distances to mapped food finds. The website code does not send that precise location with a form submission or save it to a Food2Budget account. You can decline permission and choose a neighbourhood instead.

Sharing, storage, and safety

We do not sell personal information. Information is accessible to the people operating Food2Budget and the service providers that host the website, database, and submitted photos. Hosting providers may process basic connection and security information when serving the site.

We use review controls and technical safeguards to protect submissions. No internet service can promise absolute security. We keep submissions while they are needed to review, operate, or display the service, and we may remove listings or photos that are outdated, inaccurate, or no longer appropriate.

Your choices and requests

You can use the map without sharing your location. You can submit a community find without a photo. A seller can choose not to include optional photos or a phone number.

To ask a question, correct a submission, or request removal of a listing or photo, email hello@food2budget.com. Please include the listing details so we can find it. We may ask for enough information to confirm the request.

Changes to this notice

We may update this page as the service changes. The effective date above shows when this version was published.
